   The DS3231SN is an extremely accurate real time clock with an integrated temperature-compensated crystal oscillator and crystal. The RTC counts seconds, minutes, hours, day, date, month, and year with leap year compensation valid up to 2100. The clock operates in either the 24-hour or 12-hour format with an AM/PM indicator. The device is accessed through a fast (400kHz) I2C serial interface. The device maintains accurate timekeeping when main power to the device is interrupted by switching to the backup supply. Low-power consumption makes the device work continuously on a single battery for a long time. Other features include: two time-of-day alarms, temperature reading, square-wave output and uP reset.
