The TLE 5205-2 is a fully integrated H-bridge for driving DC-Motors. The part is built using the Infineon multi-technology
process SPT® which allows bipolar and CMOS control circuitry plus DMOS power devices to exist on the same monolithic structure. The TLE 5205-2 consists of the power stage, control logic circuits  plus diagnosis and protection circuits.
A blocking capacitor at the supply voltage is the only external circuitry required. The power stage consists of four low RDS ON DMOS power transistors and associated freewheeling diodes connected in an H-bridge configuration. A built-in monitoring circuit prevents both transistors on the same side of the H from being on at the same time. The power stage delivers up to 5A continuous and 6A peak current and operates at supply voltages up to 40V. The modes of operation (direction of rotation, brake) are controlled with two TTL/CMOS compatible inputs.
The TLE 5205-2 offers a broad range of internal protection circuits such as overtemperature protection, overload
detection and undervoltage lockout. The TLE 5205-2 also features an error flag output.
