The circuit is used to monitor the power supply voltage drop in 5V microprocessor systems. If the supply voltage drops below the preset threshold value, the circuit will cause a microcontroller reset, preventing further improper operation. The delay time from reaching the threshold value to the active RESET signal output is 0.1. When the supply voltage returns to the proper level, the circuit releases the RESET signal after 350ms.
The DS1233 circuits also feature a manual reset option for the microcontroller via an external button. After releasing the button, the RESET signal remains active for 350ms to eliminate the effects of contact bounce.
